Still time to get your tickets!
Building for the Future Spring Benefit
May 17, 2019

7 - 10pm, cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, auction, MakerSpace and exhibits open for play
We are delighted to announce that
County Executive George Latimer is our Co-Honoree with the Museum's former Board President Corinne Zola at the Building for the Future Benefit. The event honors their respective longtime commitments to the Museum and celebrates the architectural renovation of the Museum's historic landmark site. Dinner Chairs are Regina and David Jansky and Alix and Ruedi Laager

This special event will be held right in the midst of the space we are restoring, renovating and rejuvenating to expand the available operating space of the Westchester Children's Museum - Funds raised from this event do the important job of supporting the Museum’s operations, keeping admission costs low, adding new educational programs and exhibits, and ensuring that the Museum remains a vibrant and welcoming environment for all children in our region

Construction Underway to Expand the Operating Space of the Museum
Construction crews are on site and busy working to transform the remaining 16,000 square feet of unimproved space in our site (referred to as the historic Playland North Bathhouse) into operating space for new exhibits, an expanded makerspace gallery, gift shop, additional restrooms and support staff offices. In the photos here you see framing going up! The project is scheduled for completion in early July. We will maintain normal operating hours throughout construction, with one or two occasions when we may modify our schedule in order to facilitate elements of the project. Watch our website and facebook page for updates. We look forward to growing the Museum and appreciate your support throughout the process!

A Gift of $10,000 to the Westchester Children's Museum from SUEZ North America

"Suez values both the partnerships and communities that it serves. Our donation to the Westchester Children’s Museum aligns with our Company’s values and our mission to improve the communities that we serve," says Eric Gernath, Chief Executive Officer, SUEZ North America.

This Month at the MakerSpace

Think Spring! Flowers, bees, butterflies, and insects are visiting the MakerSpace this month...

We will learn about the parts of a flower, and have fun making any of three types of flowers:  a simple tissue paper flower, a daisy, and a hyacinth.  Take your flowers home, or hang them for display at the Museum.
We'll also learn about the life cycle of butterflies, moths, and other insects and you can try to make your own whacky insect with all the basic buggy parts!

The MakerSpace is appropriate for all ages
