Spring Benefit, May 17, 2019

We are delighted to announce that County Executive George Latimer is our Co-Honoree with the Museum's former Board President Corinne Zola at the Building for the Future Benefit. The event honors their respective longtime commitments to the Museum and celebrates the architectural renovation of the Museum's historic landmark site. Dinner Chairs are Regina and David Jansky and Alix and Ruedi Laager

First Saturday Art Workshop
Saturday, April 6, 11am - 3:00pm

Join us as to learn paper quilling! the art of rolling, shaping, and gluing paper together to create beautiful pictures. We will also investigate patterns and forms found in nature, and how to recreate those in this form.

All ages welcome, included with Museum admission

We are making Fan Folded Paper Butterflies 
We'll learn about the life cycle of a butterfly and make our own colorful butterfly paper craft.

Young Discoverers: Earth Day Edition
Every Wednesday, 11am -11:30
Did you know that the Earth is a Planet like Mars?  Let's take a look at our globe and discover where the land and the water are! How can we keep our planet clean? We are going to check out our huge "earth" poster – read "The Earth Book" by Todd Parr and make our own Earth Pictures to take home. 

Exploring Play: Taking Care of our Planet
Every Friday, 11am - 11:30am
How do we take care of our own planet - the Earth? What is recycling? Why is planting so important? We will sing a new song – Take a look at our "earth" poster – listen to a story and then use makers and water to make our own Earth pictures – showing land and water spaces. 

Young Discoverers and Exploring Play are designed for children age 2-5 with caregivers. Sign-up begins when Museum doors open at 10am. Limited to the first 12 participants. first come, first served.

 Science Sunday!
Sunday, April 14, 11:30am and 1:30pm

What is DNA? 
Put on lab coats and goggles and extract DNA from strawberry cells. Really!
Using real laboratory equipment, students learn about genes and DNA while being guided through the scientific procedure of DNA extraction.  Students can take their sample home as a souvenir.  

Appropriate for ages 7+. Included with admission, space limited

Good Deed of the Month Club
April 27, 11am - 12pm

Join us in the Book Nook for our kindness-themed book reading and discussion followed by an art-educator led good deed project. Good Deed of the Month Club meets every 4th Saturday of the month
